課程概述 |
In this course, students learn about the impact that migration has on German society, language, and culture. We will discuss different text genres such as travelogues, poems, and essays and analyze how these genres cross boundaries. The course will address questions of identity and community formation in a transnational context.
The students will read one German novel of their own choice. At the end of the semester, they will write a paper about the novel. Several exercises, such as writing a summary and giving a presentation, will prepare them for this task.
The course is taught in German. |

課程目標 |
The students improve their abilities to express themselves in speaking and writing. They learn how to form a thesis and develop arguments. The course furthermore focuses on writing style and central aspects of German grammar.
The students will also create a podcast in a creative group project. |

課程要求 |
Students should have successfully completed at least three years of German courses (German I to III, equivalent of B1 level). Please contact me, if you are not sure whether this is the right language level for you.
Students are required to attend regularly and punctually. Attendance will be part of your grades. Absences due to a documented illness or university activity will be excused.
If you aim for an ‘A’, you will have to actively participate in all classroom activities, do your homework, and speak German as much as possible. English should be a last resort. |
